Urban Textile 2.0

Urban Agenda:

Chongqing, a city of furnace with dense population, needs to breathe. Through re-consider the tower-ground relationship, the existing ground level is peeled off to introduce natural ventilation across the site through a series of “slot” spaces as Urban Textile 2.0. The porosity of these slots brings new dynamics to the previously unlit underground levels and introduces walkable civic realm along the residential neighborhood. Through initial research mapping out these breathable slots towards context-based design expressing the multi-ground condition, the project aims at creating a civic space to reach economic growth while enriching people’s daily activities.
